DNA-synthesis stimulatory activity was found in some tryptic fragments of human beta-casein by using BALB/c3T3 cells, and two of them were identified as the beta-casein fragments of Arg[1] to Lys[18] and Gln[105] to Lys[117].

Marketing decision making tasks require the acquisition of efficient decision rules from noisy questionnaire data. Unlike popular learning-from-example methods, in such tasks, we must interpret the characteristics of the data without clear features of the data nor pre-determined evaluation criteria. The problem is how domain experts get simple, easy-to-understand, and accurate knowledge from noisy data. This study proposed a novel method to acquire efficient decision rules from questionnaire data using both simulated breeding and machine learning techniques. The basic ideas of the method are that simulated breeding is used to get the effective features from the questionnaire data and that machine learning is used to acquire simple decision rules from the data. The simulated breeding is one of the Genetic Algorithm based techniques to subjectively or interactively evaluate the offspring generated by genetic operations in a human-in-a-loop manner. The proposed method was qualitatively and quantitatively validated by a case study on consumer product questionnaire data.

This study proposed that knowledge systems should have the layered structure which consists of `strategy', `tactics,' and `physical world.' Based on this structure, we proposed a novel method for the computer aided strategic concept formation in the early conceptual stages of a product development process. This method enables the construction of computer-aided representations of a product concept along with strategy and tactics, while it stimulates a person to articulate his/her idea in mind. The system called BICSS has been developed based on this method. The based ideas of the system are: (1) to treat the strategic knowledge and tactical knowledge independently; and (2) to repeat the interactive cycle between humans and computers. A simple expert system is used for strategic knowledge. The interactive evolutionary computing (IEC) including interactive Genetic Algorithms and inductive learning techniques is used for tactical knowledge. The proposed method has been qualitatively validated by a case study.

We proposed an effective method for knowledge acquisition from raw data monitored through design process, using a pattern matching and other AI techniques. We developed a practical knowledge capturing system connected with engineering CAD system using Java language.&0a;I joined Agent-based Engineering-design Knowledge Management (AEKM) project, whose objective was to effectively utilize distributed resources for collaborative mechanical engineering design.

We determined data structure of a database for storing genomic information of many strains of Arabidopsis Thaliana.&0a;We developed the database using MySQL and Perl language.&0a;We analyzed the data that contained SNP information from the population genetic point of view.&0a;
