重粒子線によるDNA突然変異生成のメカニズムについて,出芽酵母及びプラスミドDNAを用い,分子レベルでの解析を行った.また,イオントラックの構造からエネルギー付与の空間分布を考慮し,生体での突然変異誘発のメカニズムを検討した.高LETである重粒子線照射は,低LET放射線とは生体中でのエネルギー付与の空間構造が異なるため,反応の初期過程が異なり,DNAに修復困難な損傷を誘発し,最終的に個体に固定される突然変異が特徴的な傾向を示すことが示唆された.

γ線照射による血液の影響を解析する迅速な測定手法として電気化学測定法であるサイクリックボルタンメトリーに注目した。サイクリックボルタンメトリーは、溶液内で電位を一定の速度で変化させ、電極反応物の酸化・還元電流を測定する手法であり、ピーク電流から電極反応物の濃度を測定できる。本研究ではサイクリックボルタンメトリーを用いて、γ線照射した血液の影響について評価法について検討した。
