オステオプロテゲリン(OPG)は、receptor activator of NF-κB(RANK)ligand(RANKL)とRANKの結合を拮抗阻害する分泌型のデコイ受容体である。OPG遺伝子欠損マウスは著しく骨リモデリングが亢進し、骨粗鬆症を呈する。ヒトの若年性骨パジェット病においてホモ接合のOPG遺伝子変異が複数箇所で見つかっている。OPG遺伝子を完全に欠損する変異やリガンド結合ドメインのシステイン残基の変異において、重篤な骨粗鬆症が認められている。OPG遺伝子欠損マウスやヒトのO...
